PARTH in practice newsletters

What are these and how do I use them?

The PARTH in practice newsletters are a practice-focused look at each PARTH element (PARTH word). Each newsletter includes a brief description of the element and what it looks like in practice. There are quotes from kaimahi and rangatahi about the element and some reflection questions. You can also access a plain-language audio/written summary of a related academic article, as well as links to relevant theories and case examples.

You can use these resources in a number of ways:

  • Create a weekly email series to help kaimahi focus on one element per week. This could frame discussions for team meetings, coaching and supervision.
  • Print them to create a quick reference guide
  • Use them in team meetings and activities. See here for ideas.
  • To refresh your mahi and add to your kete.
  • To help you complete professional development logs for the Social Work Registration Board or Korowai Tupu.

Thank you to the kaimahi who helped develop this resource. Thanks also to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment for funding the research that created these resources (MAUX2006).
